When the Churches Burned Down Mt. Vesuvius is famous to this very day For the destruction it brought to ancient Pompeii. The Bubonic Plague has a reputation To show how a sickness can wipe out a nation.
But who will forget the great devastation Which cause the godless a great celebration? It was a miracle of ungodly renown When every church in the world mysteriously burned down.
In one moment of time, from what people say, Churches burned from Asia, to Europe to U.S of A. They burned North and South and from East to West. Was it a conspiracy or some sort to test?
Alas of alack, Christians had no place to meet. Some, I hear, had to take to the street. They would meet in the park in the middl eof town And the poor and the homeless would gather around.
On Sunday mornings there was no place to go. Some woul dtell about Jesus to the folks on Skid Row. Wednesday nights were really a scare. Christians could show up any old where.
They'd be in a hospital by a sick person's bed Or in a soup kitchen where the poor could be fed. The prisons were visited almost every day Christians shared of God's love and then they would pray.
Sometimes when Christians had no place to go, They'd o to a restaurant just to get out of the snow. They'd try to pick up someone singing the blues And buy him a sandwich and share the Good News.
They went to the homes for children and youth And showed them God's love and taught them the truth. To schools, to homes to places of work, Around every corner the Chrisitans would lurk.
When the churches burned down, the Church rose up strong, And the World saw a display they'd looked for all along. A church without walls is a powerful thing, No one ever guessed what results it would bring.
But now those burned churches are rebuilt strong and new And Christians are again sitting safe in the pew. Author Unknown Don't get me wrong, its a blessing to have places to meet and fellowship at, but if thats were it stops, then what.....
